2. RIDE 'N' DRIVE
The test drives were divided into three categories. Each category had a different
type of vehicle. The first category was for long-distance vehicles, the second
for low-speed vehicles, and the third for motorcycles.
There were 19 types of car models in the first category. And the test drives were
on a specially organized course. One lap took about 5 minutes. Each vehicle had
its own spot for starting and stopping. So the participants knew where to line
up for the vehicle they wanted to try. (See picture 4.)
The lines were not so long. But it took me more than 2 hours to try out over 10
vehicles. Test driving more than 10 FCVs and HEVs in one day was a very valuable
experience. And during the test drives, the participants were able to experience
normal driving speeds and acceleration. (See animation.)
3. PUBLIC SESSIONS
The public sessions consisted of about 140 presentations. They started on the
17th.
